<p>A plug is claimed for fastening a cladding, e.g. an insulating panel, onto a light wt. i.e. low-density concrete base, the plug being adapted to be driven into, and anchored in, the base without a hole being previously drilled into the latter. The plug has a head and comprises a tubular slotted nail where one end forms the head whilst the other has a point to be driven into the base. Another component is a body which is forced through the tubular nail after the latter has been introduced into the base; this causing expansion and consequent secure anchoring of the nail. The inner cross-section of the nail is reduced by the forcing of it into the base. This contricted section is made of wood or plastics, e.g. PVC, and is expanded by driving the body which is of cylindrical shape with a point at its end, into it.</p> |
