The multi-point electrocardiogram has a set of electrodes for application to the thorax. This comprises a very large number (e.g. 50, 100 or even more) of small electrodes joined together in rows by small insulating components so as to form a cohesive network, with an adjustable securing system holding them so as to suit the thorax of each individual patient. There can be a large number of wires or strips, to allow electrocardiographs to be taken.
