Implement for waxing skis comprises a wax-take-up roller partly immersed in a heated wax-contg. tank or reservoir; and a transfer roller adapted to pick up wax from the take-up roller and transfer it onto the ski to be waxed. The transfer roller is smooth, can be forced against the take-up roller and thereby rotate the take-up roller when it is itself caused to revolve. The take-up roller has depression in its surface, such as paralle, annular, grooves. Alternatively, there may be only one continuous helical groove. Both rollers are suitably rubber- or plastics (e.g. silicone-) coated or >=1 roller is metal, e.g. steel-Al- or Al-alloy-coated.
