PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that suppresses use of a toner of a type different from an adaptable toner.SOLUTION: An apparatus body is provided with a drive transmission mechanism 56 including a first rotation part 54 and a second rotation part 55. A toner container 30 comprises an operation part 34 that includes a first connection part 58 connected to the first rotation part 54, and an opening/closing mechanism 33 that includes a second connection part 59 connected to the second rotation part 55 and opens/closes a toner discharge port by the second connection part 59 being rotated.
