Signature collator between printing and bookbinding machines - has sloping stacking platform with roller supports and chain conveyors

The bundling mechanism is for a given number of signatures separated from a constant overlapping flow of signatures. A platform (5) receives the deposited signatures, this platform having a back (7) sloping by 60 deg. to the horizontal. This back (7) and the base (8) are formed by rollers, side by side. At the top are fixed guide strips (10) extending upwards to parallel belts (11) forming pressure bands. These travel around pulleys (21, 22) driven by a chain drive (24) one end. The system forms an intermediate station between a printing machine and a book binding machine. The mechanism is compact and operates so that friction between the signatures does not occur. This avoids spoilt copies.
