PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device which can secure return force at the time of pulling out sheet storing means without increasing pull-in force and reduce operation force at the time of fitting and pulling out the sheet storing means to and from a device main body, and an image forming device.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding device comprises: a pull-in device that engages with a pulled-in pin 73 of a sheet feeding cassette 30 and pulls the pin into a fitting completion position in a device main body; and a linear motion type damper 100 that when compressed between the sheet feeding cassette 30 pulled into the device main body and the device main body, generates attenuation force for attenuating movement speed of the sheet feeding cassette 30 during fitting thereof. The device further comprises an external damper-return spring 110 that is provided in a movement direction of the linear motion type damper 100 and compressed during insertion of the sheet feeding cassette 30, and outputs assist force for assisting movement of the sheet feeding cassette 30 in the pulling-out direction thereof by returning from the compressed state faster than the linear motion type damper 100 when pulling out the sheet feeding cassette 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
