PURPOSE:To make pH decreasing ability sufficient, eliminate the distortion of the image formed and enhance storage stability by containing the specific copolymer acid in a polymer acid containing layer in a photographic material for color diffusion transfer. CONSTITUTION:A polymer acid containing layer which contains acrylic acid 50 to 80 mole% and vinylydene chloride 50 to 20 mole% as copolymer forming components and contains a copolymer acid having acid value of preferably about 400 to 550 is provided together with silver halide emulsion layer, etc. on a substrate. When the alkaline treatment composition is developed for developing of this photographic material, the copolymer acid containing layer lowers the pH of the abovementioned composition preferably down to 5 to 8. Thereby, the images of high color density and color purity and less contamination may be obtained. In addition, this copolymer acid containing layer is superior in film forming characteristic and has excellent adhesiveness to the substrate and other layers, adequate pH decreasing rate, etc. |
