PURPOSE:To provide the subject device wherein a hermetically sealed type liquid cylinder consisting of a tube and a piston provided with a gap there-between is interposed between a chock and a rolling reduction device, thereby to obtain the device preventing the end toothing and being applicable for a great rolling reduction force and easy for maintenance. CONSTITUTION:When a reduction force is acted upon a roll 1, the roll 1 is deflected, and hence a sleeve 2 is tilted, whereby such end toothing that the oil film thickness h2 of a gap between the sleeve 2 and a bearing shell 3 differ from each other in axial direction. However, by an automatic self-aligning operation a moment MB rotating a chock 4 in clockwise direction is generated. The axial core Y8 of a piston 8 is tilted from the axial core Y9 of a tube 9 by said moment MB, and the variation in the relative angle of the axial core X3 of the bearing shell 3 with respect to the axial core Y of the rolling reduction device 7 is made possible and the sleeve 2 and the bearing shell 3 are maintained in parallel. By this procedure, the oil film thickness h2 becomes constant in the axial direction, and it becomes possible to remove the end toothing of the bearing. |
