Date May 5, 1988.The addition of up to 80 percent by weight of a fatty alcohol, and up to 10 percent by weight of a fatty alkylamido alkyldialkylamine to a quaternary ammonium compound, results in a particulate composition which, when stirred into warmed, slightly acidified water, almost immediately forms an emulsion. The emulsion thus produced overcomes many problems usually associated with the formulation of emulsions, and is suitable for use as a hair conditioner.
