PURPOSE:To improve the signal characteristic by a flat cable and to make a connector highly dense by containing the short contact, which is connected to the earth conductor provided to the signal conductor of flat cable, in the cover. CONSTITUTION:The connector which is put in the contact by pressing consists of the connector housing 6, contact 7, cover 9 and short contact 10 the flat cable 8 is provided with signal conductors 81, 81', 81'', ..., and earth conductors 82, 82', 82'', .... These signal and earth conductors 81, 82 are made a pair to contribute to the signal transmission of high quality. The characteristic impedance of each signal line is held constant, the crosstalk between the signal lines is made less. The short contact 10 is connected to the earth conductor. In this way, the signal transmission characteristic by the flat cable can be particularly improved and the connector is made highly dense. |
