A bullet-checking aluminium- frame window for buildings, to give protection against bullets fired from firearms, comprises a sash frame 2 and an outer frame or casing 1 of aluminium sections. The frames 1 and 2 are arranged in relation to one another with a gap 5 therebetween. Bullet-checking plates 8 of an aluminium alloy are glued or welded to the outside or inside of the aluminium sections of the sash frame 2 and the outer frame or casing 1. The plates 8 are so constructed in the zone of the gap 5 that an opening 6, extending at an angle of 45 DEG to the plane of the window, is provided over the width of the gap 5 and extends from the gap 5 to the outside of the bullet-checking plates 8. Alternatively the opening having a portion parallel to the plane of the window (Figure 2). A fixed window similarly has a bullet-checking plate 8 (Figure 3). <IMAGE> |
