ONEESIDE HOT DIPPING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To prevent adhesion of hot dipping metal scattered by a wiping unit to a roll for conveying a strip steel sheet the under side of which has been hot dipped upward from a bath surface by conveying a sheet close to the bath surface and attaching a cover to the roll in one-side hot dipping of the sheet. CONSTITUTION:Strip steel sheet 1 is conveyed from snout 2 into one-side hot dipping apparatus 3, horizontally moved with roll 8, and contacted to a bath surface raised by vibration of ultraviolet tip 5 to hot dip the under side. Next sheet 1 is moved upward with roll 9 set in the vicinity of the bath surface and passed by gas wiping unit 10 to remove excess molten metal from the hot dipped side. Cover 11 is being attached to roll 9 along the roll surface from the upper part to the sides. Molten metal scattered by unit 10 is prevented from penetrating into the space between the roll surface and cover 11 with semicircular cover 11.
