III (R3 = H, methyl, R4 = pyridyl, phenyl, trifluoromethyl) or IV (R5, R6 = H, methy) and their acid additive salts, with antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedative, and brady cardiac action, were prepd. by reacting homophthalimide (II) or its metallic salt esp. alkaline metal with substituted amines [Z-(CH2)n-A; Z = C1, Br, I, alkylsulfonyloxy, arylsulfonyloxy .
