High definition graphic recording on thermo-reactive paper - is performed from logic signal by modulating laser beam

High definition graphic recording with rapid response characteristics is made onto paper by modulated laser beam which reacts on thermoreactive paper. Thermoreactive recording paper (5) is driven by a motor from supply (3) to a take-up spool (1). A laser system (6) receives recording information from a computer (7) via a buffer memory (8) and emits a beam when logic 1 is present. Output beam (10) is transmitted by mirrors (11, 12) to another mirror (17) on a carriage (13) which is moved in a guide (14) by motor (15) via friction drive (15a) and an endless belt (16). Mirro on the carriage directs the beam onto the paper. The carriage position is determined by a photocell (21) and emitter (20) acting through holes (19) spaced for required definition in a fixed rule (18).
