<p>A guard for the driver of a mobile crane consits of two grilles each mounted on the end of a beam. These supporting beams slide into a channel of a beam fixed to the vehicle and are retained by safety catches. The guards are of rectangular shape and are mounted vertically and cove the controls, when the crane is not in use, and the vehicle is in motion. The guards can be rotated through 90 deg. to the horizontal position to protect the driver from any part of the crane load which might otherwise fall on him.</p> |
