<p>The emergency generator provides electrical current to a milking parlour during an interruption in the mains supply. It comprises a tractor engine coupled to the vacuum pump motor, using the former's power take-off. Capacitors are fitted and the motor acts as generator to deliver current. This is controlled by a four-position switch, normally connected to the mains supply. The second position is "OFF", the third provides for no-load starting and the fourth supplies the milk pump motor, lighting and other equipment.</p> |
