Angularly adjustable traffic sign - uses square section post passed through star section panel passage to permit clamping in eight alternative positions

The traffic sign comprises a cavity sign panel (2) which is mounted on a post (1) of hollow square section, the panel to past connection providing for positive fixing in alternate angular relationships. The post is threaded through a passage (5) in the panel, the passage having a star shaped cross section of which the angles (6, 7) engage alternative post corners. A partic, design may use a rectangular section passage with a right angled triangular groove (6) in three walls, thus forming a five angled segment of a symmetrical eight angled star. The arrangement enables the panel to be fixed in eight alternative angular positions at 45 deg. intervals, a packing plate (19) being used to line the opening, and a screw jack clamp (13-18) being used to complete the fixing.
