<p>A brake-guide for a bobbin, or a bobbin store, comprises a stirrup whose central arm has a length equal to that of the bobbin or bobbin store, and has a lengthwise slot through which passes the ribbon wound on the bobbins. The stirrup has side-arms slightly longer than the widest bobbin's dia., and each side-arm, at its free end, has >=1 opening to engage with the bobbin support shaft. In use, the upper and lower edges of the slot in the central arm of the stirrup may give rise to a baffle-path for the ribbon, which not only brakes the pull of the ribbon to eliminated unwanted ribbon unwinding, but also retains the ribbon when it is released and prevents further unwinding. The device is intended for use on display-storage systems for shops, etc.</p> |
