The locking device is for a union to a distribution pipe, partic. for fluids used in hospitals. It comprises a socket (7) in which a removable connector (5) fits, together with a clamping ring (9) screwing onto a threaded portion (2) of the socket. The ring secures the connector in place by pressing a collar (8) formed on the latter against the socket. The connector can have an unthreaded spigot (12) accommodating a toroidal joint (10) compressed between it and the socket, in which there is a valve (13) opened automatically by insertion of the connector.
