PURPOSE:To make it possible to facilitate the maintenance and to effect the suitable copying operations of many sheets by specifying the attachment of a cleaning brush as well as the construction of a filter. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning brush 20, which is operative to scrape away the toner left on a photosensitive drum 6, is supported by an arm 31, which is made swingable about a shaft 36, such that it is ennabled to approach and leave the drum 6. A filter member 55 between the cleaning brush 20 and a sirocco fan 46 is composed of thin and dense filters 91 and 92 which are juxtaposed at a spacing through a partition member 93. As a result, upon the copying operations of numerous sheets in which the cleaning operation of a toner image had better not be performed, if the cleaning brush 20 is separated from the drum 6, a number of excellent copies can be obtained from a single electrostatic latent image, the relatively large toner in the air flow to be sucked by the rotations of the fan 46 is captured by the filter 91 whereas the relatively small toner is captured by the filter 92 so that the filter member 55 can be prevented from becoming clogged. |
