Seat belt slack-controlling mechanism - has retractor pull-blocking ram operated by backward swing of seat back rest

The slack of the seat belt strap around the body of the user is automatically controlled. The retractor-operated spool (6) with seat belt (5) is fitted on the side of the seat (1). The back rest (3) is connected to swing arms (8) hinged on fulcrum (9) with movement against the force of spring(10) resting on bracket(11). The upward movement of the seat (2) is limited by a lug (12) fitted rigidly on the stationary part of the seat structure allowing the swing arm (8) to move within the length of notch (13) but limited upwards by hook (14). When the user sits back, swing arm (8) moves so that brake shoe comes to rest on spool (6) and blocks further winding on of the belt.
