The development unit, in an electrographic copier or an electroradiography unit, has a cylindrical housing (1) containing the toner powder and an injection jet (4) which rotates about a concentric axis (5) within the housing (1) and injects the toner into an air stream directed across the surface of the latent image. The injection jet (4) is bent at right angles so that one section (4.1) extends radially relative to the axis for admission of the toner powder, while the other section (4.2) projects along this axis (5) into the path of the air stream. Pref. the bottom of the housing (1) and the former section (4.1) of the injection jet (4) have cooperating sets of prongs (17, 18) for agitating the toner powder.
