The present invention provides: a dehydrogenation catalyst for converting a C3 or C4 paraffin-based hydrocarbon into an olefin-based hydrocarbon through direct dehydrogenation of the C3 or C4 paraffin-based hydrocarbon, and a preparation method thereof, wherein the catalyst is characterized in that an active metal and an active auxiliary metal are supported on an alloy (ZnO-Al_2O_3) support comprising alumina (Al_2O_3) and zinc oxide (ZnO).
