Screwdriver with screw retaining tip - has two resilient blades in holder in V=shape when unstressed by sliding bush

The screwdriver allows placing of slotted head screws in difficult access or remote areas. The handle of the screwdriver has a shank on which the double-bladed tip (1) is permanently fixed. The ends of the blades normally assume a V-shaped position along the parts protruding from the rod end. On the outside surface of the rod (2) two resilient tongues (3) are fitted with their ends (4) kinked towards the V-shape. Over the outer surface of the two tongues a sliding bush (6) is movable towards the tip so that the tongues close against the V-shape and compress it into a single blade which can be inserted into the screw head slot. When the bush is slid back the resilient tongues release the double blade which snaps back into V shape. The two legs of the V-shape expand and keep the screw head clamped.
