<p>The patient lifting stretcher is movable between the lying and sitting positions, having an underframe and an overhung stretcher comprising a central portion and hinging end ones. A stretcher lifting mechanism is mounted on the underframe, and a drive mechanism with linkage tilts one end portion being actuated by the lifting mechanism on reaching a predetermined height. A second drive mechanism (20, 46, 54) acts on the end portion (24) other than that to which the first is directly coupled, and a selector (56, 58) brings the first (18, 44, 52) or second one into operation when the lifting mechanism has reached the predetermined height. The other mechanism remains inoperative.</p> |
