The container is for packaging goods and can be closed with a sliding cover. It is suitable for pasty foods substances. In part of the sliding region (3), the contacting surfaces (11 12) of cover (1) and container (2) are in the form of an air pump seal. There is a closable outlet hole (4) which ensue the positional security of the cover (1) on the container (2). The container and/or the cover are elastic in the region of the sealing surfaces (11, 12). Those surfaces (11, 12) which act in the manner of an air pump seal have a conicity which increases the sealing effect.
