The box is particularly for explosives or tools and has a lid bent over along all four sides. A concealed hinge is fitted between the box and the lid on the inside, and a cylinder-type lock engages between box and lid, likewise on the inside. The hinge (9) can be an angle-piece, with one flange joined to the lid, near the rear edge, while the other is welded to a tube accommodating a bar. The latter fits in square pieces with bores mounted in the top corners of the box and forming hinge bearings.
