The present invention is directed generally to a forest fire-fighting machine 10 comprising a mobile chassis 12 together with a boom 14 mounted to the chassis 12. The fire-fighting machine also comprises an axially flow fan 16 mounted to the boom 14. The boom 14 is configured to located the axial fan 16 at a forest fire-front and to provide sufficient air flow via the fan 16 to extinguish or suppress the fire-front.
