The angle head grinding machine has a tensioning arrangement for the wheel (1) which has a dished centre. This central part is held between an inner clamping collar (3) and outer collar (2) both mounted on the drive spindle (6). They are clamped against the wheel by the head (5) of a bolt (4) which screws into the spindle. The spindle has a flat (9) across the end, which fits against a corresponding flat inside the two collars. At the other end of the spindle, onto which is keyed a driving bevel wheel (11) is a spring loaded locating pin (15) with a head (21) accessible through an opening in the covering housing (20). This fits into a corresponding hole (10) in the bevel wheel.
