PURPOSE:To let high speed logic operation be performed with a simple constitution by synthesizing the plural single mode optical guides formed on a dielectric substrate and letting the logic operations of the photo signals inputted to respective plural single mode optical guides be performed. CONSTITUTION:Optical guides 1 and 2 of signle mode composed of glass, resins, etc. of different refractive index than that of a dielectric substrate 5 are synthesized on said substrate to form an outputting optical guide 5 and an oversaturation absorber 4 as a light intensity detector is disposed at the end part therof. Photo signals are made logic 1 where there is a light and are logic 0 where there is not and only when the light intensities Pin of respectively logic 1 in light intensity are inputted to the input end IN1 of the optical guide 1 and the input end IN2 of the optical guide 2, the sythesized input thereof becomes 2Pin and when this is applied to the oversaturation absorber 4, it exceeds the detection threshold Pth and therefore the output 1 is obtained. In other case, no light outputs are obtainable and the logic value is 0. |
