<p>A process for the separation of 1,3-butadiene from a feed mixture comprising 1,3-butadiene and at least one other C4 unsaturate. A feed stream containing 1,3-butadiene and at least one other C4 unsaturate is contacted with an adsorbent comprising a crystalline aluminosilicate selected from the group consisting of type X structured and type Y structured zeolites containing at the exchangeable cationic sites at least one cation selected from the group consisting of lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, and barium to effect the selective adsorption of 1,3-butadiene. The 1,3-butadiene adsorbed by the adsorbent is thereafter recovered as a purified product.</p> |
