PURPOSE:To prevent local occurrence of background stain, image fog, or the like, by setting the light amount of a destaticization lamp and the wavelength region so as to control light fatigue of an image formatiom area to a level similar to that of a nonimage area. CONSTITUTION:Illumination lamps L1, L2, and L3 are installed in nonimage area destaticizer 12, and switching of them is controlled by a control circuit. For example, in using A5 size transfer paper, all lamps L1, L2, and L3 are lighted, and in using B5 size transfer paper all of them are not lighted. When destaticizer 12 is used, the nonimage area is illuminated with long wavelength light through filter 27 using a red filter so as to control the residual potential of the nonimage area or its light fatigue to a similar level to that of the imaging area, thus permitting the occurrence of background stain and fog to be prevented by setting the light amount of illumination in accordance with the wavelength. |
