PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device, etc., for cutting a glass preform, capable of preventing the glass preform from sliding down or cracking during cutting.SOLUTION: A device for cutting a glass preform comprises: a cutter 400 for cutting a cutting portion in a glass preform 1010; holding mechanisms 310 and 360 for holding the upper side of the cutting portion in the glass preform 1010; and a support mechanism 500 for supporting the lower side. The support mechanism 500 has a pair of contact members 521a and 521b and chuck bodies 522a and 522b having inclined surfaces 523a and 523b inclined so as to approach the outer peripheral surface of the glass preform 1010 as going downward, and the contact members 521a and 521b have inclined surfaces facing the inclined surfaces 523a and 523b. Frictional coefficients between the contact members 521a and 521b and the chuck bodies 522a and 522b are smaller than frictional coefficients between the contact members 521a and 521b and the glass preform 1010.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
