PURPOSE:To make minute the crystal grain of the weld metal, and to prevent the weld zone from cracking, by previously adding the specified necessary amount of V to be added, to at least one of welding wire, consumable nozzle, and auxiliary electrode plate, and by electroslag welding the butt weld zone of two parent metals under the ordinary welding condition. CONSTITUTION:Vanadium is added so as to make the rate of V in the produced weld metal to be 0.05-0.5wt%, in consideration of the dilution rate due to the parent metal and the consumption due to the oxidation of V while the welding work. The molten slag 6 is formed in the space formed by the parent metal 4 and the backing metal 5, and the temperature of the molten slag 6 is raised by the resistance heat caused by the current flowing through the welding wire 1, consumable nozzle 2, auxiliary electrode plate 3, molten slag 6 and parent metal 4. As a result, the welding wire 1, consumable nozzle 2, auxiliary electrode plate 3 and the parent metal 4 are molten, and form the molten metal 7, which solidifies and forms the weld metal 8. |
