<p>The molded chassis of a tape recorder or other apparatus further comprised of parts or components which, when assembled on a main body of the chassis, project from one or both of the approved surfaces thereof, is provided with supporting legs molded integrally with the main chassis body and extending beyond such opposed surfaces of the latter by distances at least as great as the maximum distances that the assembled parts or components extend from the respective surfaces so that the legs can support the chassis on a work surface with either of the opposed surfaces uppermost for convenient mounting of the parts or components on such surface whil? the parts or components already mounted on the other surface are held out of contact with the work surface. The supporting legs may further provide means by which a plurality of the chassis may be stacked without damage to parts or components already mounted thereon. Further, after completion of the mounting of parts or components on the main chassis body, at least some of the supporting legs may be separated therefrom, for example, at narrowed frangible sections of the legs, while the remaining supporting legs may have a cabinet or portions of the latter secured thereto.</p> |
