NEW MATERIAL:A penicillanic acid derivative of formula I (R<1> is H, halogen, NO2, etc.; R<2> is H, OH; n is 1, 2; A is 2-3C alkylene, etc.). EXAMPLE:6-[D-(-)-2-(2-fluoro-7alpha, 8, 9, 10, 11, 11alpha-hexahydro-4-oxo-4H-pyrido [3,2,1-jk]carbazole-5-carboxamide) -2-phenylacetamido] -3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4- thia-1-azabicyclo[3,3,0]heptane-2-carboxylic acid. USE:An antibacterial agent effective to Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and resistant bacteria, especially effective to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. PROCESS:The objective compound I is prepared by reacting a compound II (some of which are novel) with a compound III (R<4> is lower alkyl; X is halogen), and further reacting the resulting compound IV with a compound V (M is H, alkali metal). |
