1309209 Dentifrice containing iridescent and pearlescent flakes COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 14 June 1971 [13 July 1970] 27687/71 Heading A5B Dentifrice, having a sparkingly appearance and improved stain-removing properties contain non-toxic iridescent or pearlescent flakes such as mother of pearl flakes or iridescent mica flakes coated with another material, whose refractive index is different from that of mica e.g. titanium dioxide or BiOCl. The dentifrice may contain 0.1 to 5% by weight of the flakes and may be in the form of a transparent paste, gel or cream, powder or tablet. The dentifrice may also contain water, a humectant such as glycerine, sorbitol, propylene glycol or polyethylene glycol; a gelling agent such as sodium carboxymethyl cellulose and/or synthetic finely divided silicas; a polishing agent such as sodium aluminosilicate and/or amorphous silicic anhydride; a surface agent e.g. sodium lauryl sulphate; a colouring or whitening agent; a preservative such as sodium benzoate; a silicone; a chlorophyll compound; an ammoniated material such as urea and/or diammonium phosphate; or anti-bacterial agent; a flavouring or sweetening sialagogue e.g. saccharin or chloroform; and/or a fluorine-containing compound. |
