PURPOSE:To reduce size and contamination of a photoconductive device, to enhance stability, reliability, and durability, and to enable detection of developing performance intermediately, by detecting the density of toner cloud produced in the inside during operation of a developing apparatus. CONSTITUTION:Toner 2a in toner hopper 1 is supplied through toner dispenser 3 into developing apparatus housing 4. Photosensitive drum 12 holding a static latent image and an opposite developing roller 5 rotate, binary dry type developer 2 is drawn up on roller 5 by this, and brought in contact to the surface of drum 12 to develop the static latent image. Then, the developer 2 drops down in housing 4, and scattered to form toner cloud 7. Cloud 7 is passed through cloud suction opening 8 and pipe 6 with air pump 10, and this density is detected with toner cloud density detector 9 provided on the outside of housing 4, and then, the cloud is caught with filter 11. |
