PURPOSE:To provide a contraction packing method according to which if the heating of a preceding container is interrupted due to the interruption of container feeding for a certain reason, the film is difficult to melt and cut because the heated part is not subject to a large amount of heat. CONSTITUTION:A thermally contractive film 4 wound in a roll is drawn to cover the upper portion of a container 1 and fixed to both the side walls 1A, 1B of the container. The edges extending from the front and rear walls 1C, 1D of the container are fixed only after the cutting of the film. Then the film is subject to the thermal contraction process. In this packing method, the preliminary fixation of the film to the side walls is carried out at a relatively low temperature and the final one after cutting of the film at a high temperature. Namely, by a wide sealing at a high temperature for the final fixation, the preliminary fixation can be reinforced and the falling portion 4a produced by the cutting of the film can be fixed completely and beautifully. |
