PURPOSE:To reduce the manufacturing costs and time for textbooks or pamphlets containing relatively few leaves by a shortened process in which the printing and the binding steps are carried out simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:The rolled paper 1 at a paper supply station is printed on both sides by a rubber cylinder 2 comprising a blanket wound around the printing sleeve at the printing station, dried by a drier 4 to dry the printing ink thereon and subsequently cut by a slitter 5 in the center in accordance with the predetermined page size so that the paper 1 runs in two rows after this position. One row of paper is then detoured along guide rollers 8, 6 and a compensater roller 7. The other row of paper is piled on the abovementioned row of paper by a turn bar 11 located immediately after the guide roller 8. After passing between transfer rollers 9, 10, the two-ply paper is cut by a cutter knife 12 in accordance with a predetermined size into book leaves, fed into a belt conveyor 13, and then piled in order of page number in an exhausted paper pile 14 as being bound. |
