The valve cage with cooled valve seat (4) in the lower section (7) has an upper section (10) provided with cooling ducts (11) and an intermediate section (8), also provided with cooling ducts (9), integrally connected to the lower section (7). Upper section (10) and intermediate section (8) are detachably connected to one anther, the cooling ducts of both sections communicating and the point of connection (15) of the two sections being sealed to prevent coolant escaping. The valve cage permits easy removal and replacement of the lower section (7) having the valve seat (4) together with the intermediate section (8). <IMAGE>
