Tow ball point assembly for trailer - has cup automatically clamped closed by return spring and opened by external hand grip

The tow ball joint is for a trailer and has automatic locking. Inside the tow cup (1) is a pivoting clamp (4), worked from the outside of a hand grip (8). The clamp pivots at two points (5, 6) in bent openings (10, 11). When in the locked position they hold the ball (3), in its housing (2). The upper opening (10) has a brand (12) centred at the top of the ball. The lower one (11) has a branch (13) concentric with the ball. A return spring (24) between the clamp and the tow box returns the clamp to the closed position. A clamp face (9) matches the ball profile.
