The main current-carrying fixture, e.g. switch, fuse, or terminal provides a simple means of checking current to consumer circuits. The fuse holder cap or similar fitting has a slotted recess (2) in one edge of the insulator (3). Bridging the gap in the recess is a metering loop (3) consisting of an insulated conductor which carries the full load current flowing through the fitting.
