The crankshaft is for in-line engines with a six throws or more. It is divided at the middle along a thick crank web (7) to form a pair of flanges and two short crankshaft sections (2, 3). The sections are joined together by coupling devices (4) to form a single crankshaft (1). The design allows production of long cast crankshafts without the risk of distortion.
