The design of a boiler for the continuous concn. of chemical solns. provides for a considerable increase in the number or the area of the contact between the soln. and the source of heat. The concn. of the solns. is increased by arranging boilers of this type in series. The gases and vapours generated can be recovered and recirculated into the system. The plant consists of a stable, sealed, vertical, cylindrical vessel increasing conically in dia. in a zone near its bottom. The heat source is formed by a gp. of pipes connected to a heat exchanger. A large number of discs are spaced out uniformly along the pipes. The surface of the discs is undulated so that the soln. distributed from above collects on them and then overflows on to those beneath.
