The rotary anode (4) support plate (9) is secured by a connection using axial incisions (21, 22) in the plate hole edge. Into the cut hole is press fitted a hollow shaft (8). This forms in the incisions a transverse toothing, forming a secured and permanent fastening (12) of the plate on the shaft. If the shaft outer wall is fitted with threads, the joint is strengthened and the connection is secure even at highest rotary speeds. The anode plate is of molybdenum, at least in the joint region, while the shaft is of niobium or tantalum.
