When several adjacent sound tracks are recorded on a recording medium, one sound track is recorded on a first recording medium or film (11), while the first and second films (2, 11) are both transported in one direction. The recording optics (10) of the sound-film unit (7) are then shifted from the recorded first track by the spacing of a second sound track which is recorded while the recording film is transported in the opposite direction. Further tracks are recorded after corresponding shifts of the optics.
