<p>The multiple aerial direction finder automatically deduces a radio bearing from the arc tangent of the ratio of two phase differences. These can be determined by groups of two aerial each forming a right-angled isosceles triangle with a central aerial at its apex (E1, E2, Em). There are groups of three circumferential aerials each forming a right -angled isosceles triangle (E1, E2, E3) and groups of four circumferential aerials each forming a square (E0, E1, E2, E3). The phase differences are formed by the apex and each of the other corners or by the diametrically opposite pairs (E0, E2) and (E1, E3).</p> |
