Printed decorated panel for cladding and/or insulating building - made of mechanical wood pulp compounded with volume-increasing fillers, cationic additive and latex

Decorative board or panel used for cladding and insulation, especially in the building industry is made of mechanical wood pulp coated with a decorative layer. The wood pulp is admixed with cationic material(s), especially modified starch, and synthetic latexes. Bulking fillers, e.g. expanded silicates, especially pearlite or Al-oxides are also added to the pulp. Alternatively, the vol. of the bulk mass may be increased by foaming e.g. with the aid of some gas-releasing agent(s). Al-powder is also a suitable filler. The resulting board can be directly printed upon or moulded to give relief-type structures.
