<p>A machine for producing a wide range of small wares of novel construction, comprising a number of rocking yarn guides, one end of which has >=1 eye holding a warp thread the other end forming a control foot which is operated by means of a sliding carriage which also controls the motion of >=1 weft thread guide which can move vertically and laterally to lay a separate thread across the warp threads. The machine may be provided with sliding thread guides above the rockers to manipulate the weft thread, and with banks of latch needles beneath the rockers, either parallel or perpendicular to them, to increase the design capability of the machine. Opposing sets of rockers and needles may be used to produce double-faced wares. The machine produces, at high speed, small wares of a novel character combining properties of both woven and knitted prods., and with unlimited design possibilities.</p> |
